Join JACK 96.9 as we paint the town green at this years CelticFest in downtown Vancouver.

Rick Lee will be live from the Celtic Village @ Robson Square on Friday, March 17th starting at 3pm at the official St. Paddy’s Day weekend party.

For March 17 and 18, CelticFest Vancouver will ‘paint the town green,’ turning Robson Square, the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza, and Robson Street at Howe into the Celtic Village.   From 12pm – 11 pm the streets and square will be filled with live Celtic music and dance, food trucks, family activities, artisan vendors, and most importantly, the Mill Street beer garden. Entrance to the Celtic Village is free from 12pm – 7pm, admission is $10.00 after 7pm.

The main stage will feature international award winning fusion band Delhi 2 Dublin on Friday, March 17 and local folk-rock-celtic legends The Paperboys on Saturday, March 18. Special guests including Tiller’s Folly, Wheat in the Barley, Pat Chessell Band and Eire Born Irish Dancers.  Other programming includes the six times world champion Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, a “Salute to Scotland” with pipers, dancers and caber tossing, and more.  The Robson Street Stage will feature North Shore Celtic Ensemble, Jocelyn Pettit Band, O’Brien Dancers, and many more.

CelticFest Vancouver will host a series of events celebrating the best of Irish music, dance, sport and art:

  • March 10 – Irish Sports Night Gala with Mick Galwey and Pat Spillane at St Mary’s Ukrainian Cultural Centre
  • March 12 – Sharon Shannon at St. James Hall
  • March 14, 16 & 18 – Almost a Stepmom – Play at Havana Theatre
  • March 15 – 18 –  Belfast Girls Play at East Vancouver Cultural Centre
  • March 17 & 18 –  Celtic Village at Robson Square
  • March 17 –  Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir at Christ Church Cathedral
  • March 18 – Celtic Fest Ceilidh at St Mary’s Ukrainian Cultural Centre
  • April 7 –  Carlos Nunez at the Vogue Theatre
