Mother Nature has brought the snow!!

Monday’s commute has been chaotic, and drivers are being asked to proceed with extreme caution.

Our sister-station NEWS 1130 is tracking the storm and its impact on the commute, HERE. 

According to Environment Canada, there is a snowfall warning in effect:

“A Pacific front over the British Columbia coast is still giving snow to the lower mainland this morning. The Arctic air that has been
with us for nearly two weeks is finally being flushed out by milder
Pacific air, however the intensity of the precipitation is causing it to still fall as snow in most areas.

The snow will change over to rain this morning, although higher elevations and those farther inland will see some delay in this transition.

The moderate rainfall in combination with melting snow could cause
localized flooding today. Culverts and catch basins should be kept clear.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.”
