Today Prince would have been celebrating his 58th birthday; many of those years spent creating musical brilliance and making waves in the world of music.

Even after his death on April 21st, due to a fentanyl related overdose, the artist continues to soar:

14 million copies of his albums and songs sold one week after his death.

5 albums made it to Billboard’s Top 10 one full week post-mortem.

19 albums have reached the Top 10 over the course of his musical life (beating the previous record of 14 set by the Beatles)!

(according to Nielson Music).

Tributes have rang out in his memory, and perhaps, Sir Elton John says it the best:

He was probably the greatest musician I have ever seen live on stage, without question. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He was the showman, a great writer, an incredible performer, singer, guitarist…and we all knelt at his feet”.

Maybe we can’t do it like Sir Elton John can, but today, we belt out Happy Birthday to you, Prince!!

June 7th would have marked 58 years of glorious, music-making genius!
