A statue of the late Chris Cornell will soon be coming to Seattle, where the artist was born and raised.

His wife said the statue will live at Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture and will be erected on August 29.

Cornell’s wife commissioned sculptor Nick Marras to create the life-size statue. It will be made of bronze and will feature his signature boots and dog tag necklace.

Vicky Cornell says the statue is a gift to the “tight-knit community that gave him his start.” She made the announcement the day artist would have turned 54.

The lead vocalist for Soundgarden and Audioslave was found dead in a Detroit hotel after a concert in May 18, 2017.
