We’ve got great news for fans of the smooth-voiced thespian Morgan Freeman. His distinctive low-pitch pipes will soon be heard on select Vancouver buses and trains thanks to a partnership between TransLink and Visa to help promote the new tap-to-pay credit card system.

Sadly Mr. Freeman won’t be voicing the individual stops but he will be reminding passengers about the new tap payment system. Check it out:

And for all those that think this is another huge waste of TransLink money, fret not. Visa bought ad-space on TransLink so TransLink got paid for Freeman’s voice (he is the official voice of Visa) and not the other way around. And did you know that science can explain why Morgan Freeman’s voice is so universally loved?

Now, what will be smoother? Morgan’s voice or the old gum on the seats?
