Fresh off the ratings success of the Roseanne reboot, we started thinking about other TV shows that we’d love to see rebooted. The powers that be have already rebooted tonnes of favourites (Full House, Arrested Development, S.W.A.T., X-Files, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Will & Grace, Dynasty, Lost In Space, MacGyver etc.) but there are a couple more that we would love to see back on the tube. We asked the JACK team for their favourites and this is what we came up with.

#6 “The Littlest Hobo” (Canada’s choice)

Fun fact: The ’80s “The Littlest Hobo” was a reboot! The original series first aired from 1963 to 1965 but it was the second run on CTV that lives forever in the hearts of many Canadians. Seriously, the world needs a stray German Sheppard to save the day, now more than ever.

#5 “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” (Corbet’s choice)

“In West Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days”… yep, JACK’s music director can probably recite the words to the Fresh Prince theme song faster than he can recite the alphabet. Will Smith being a gigantic movie star complicates the chances of this show ever getting rebooted, as does the unfortunate passing of James Avery aka Uncle Phil in 2013, but we’d still like to see it.

#4 “Chico & The Man” (Kuss’ choice)

The first U.S. television series that was set in a predominately Mexican-American neighbourhood, Chico & The Man also featured a great lineup of musicians on the show: Tony Orlando, Jose Feliciano and Sammy Davis Jr. were all regulars. Jose Feliciano even sang the theme song. Maybe Freddie Prinze Jr. could play Chico, just like his father (RIP).

#3 “Three’s Company” (Paul’s choice)

One of the ’70s/’80s most popular sitcoms, Three’s Company was actually based on a British show titled Man About the House. And while it has never been rebooted on television, rumour has it that it is being rebooted for the big screen!

#2 “Cheers” (Fitzy’s choice)

One of the most iconic shows of all-time, it’s actually quite surprising that Cheers hasn’t been rebooted already. And much like the Fresh Prince, it has one of the greatest TV show theme songs. And who can forget Norm!

#1 “Seinfeld” (Kenny’s Choice)

One of the most popular shows of all-time, Seinfeld was kinda rebooted during the 7th season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, when the entire cast reunited for some memorable episodes. We think part of the reason the show needs a reboot is the divisive final episode. To top it off, the Modern Seinfeld Twitter account proves that the Seinfeld brand of humour still works today.
