If the Canucks don’t make the playoffs do I really need cable?

This has been a question swirling around the Jones’ family supper table since September. It’s like the NAFTA negotiations – Each family member has put forth a great case for keeping cable but each family member cannot really prove their point!

Let’s say my daughter Piper plays the part of Mexico.
Liam, my son, will be the USA.
And I will be Canada.
My wife plays the part of the treasurer because she is truly impartial other than the potential financial incentive of dropping a monthly bill.
Yes Piper, we know you love The Big Bang Theory but you’re never home to watch it.
Yes Liam, you want Much Music but they don’t play videos anymore so why are you even making a fuss?
And then there is me:
Point 1 – I love Tim and Sid – but the Canucks are not a big draw on their show..
Point 2 – The Detroit Lions – but it’s a rebuilding year again..
Point 3 – Cable is good for the background, to use it as white noise. I have always taken comfort in that—not sure why.
So, much like the NAFTA negotiations nothing is being solved right now.
Then there is the fact that we are a Netflix / Crave TV / Spotify house hold. That’s a lot of money, so cutting something would be a great idea. But what to do? I have lived with cable TV for my whole life and I know it’s a first world problem but what will it be like?
I remember when we made the decision to lose the land line it was a 12 second conversation. We have cell phones so why spend the money? DONE! Enough said!

But losing cable??? Oh man, it’s a tough one! So I put this in your trusty hands. Make our decision for us! What should we do?
