Watch Chris Martin bring his classic sound to the 1986 Paul Simon hit “Graceland”!

Chris Martin and Paul Simon - to use

During a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session Chris Martin recreates the sounds of Paul Simon’s “Graceland” with a full brass band and vocal backup.

Martin has said, he recalls hearing “Graceland” during his childhood while visiting family in South Africa (Paul Simon’s album was the highest-selling release in the country at the time since Michael Jackson’s Thriller).

He went on to say, “I was trying to get the attention of another 10-year-old girl…There was no texting in those days, but she was doing the Eighties equivalent of not texting me back and I remember this song playing and thinking ‘at least the music is awesome.”

Listen to this!
