The highly anticipated launch of U2’s worldwide tour, celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Joshua Tree, kicked off in Vancouver on May 12th, 2017. Issues arose when thousands of fans were stuck outside the venue due to a ticketing issue, and essentially ended up missing the opening act , Mumford & Sons.

As you can imagine, complaints flooded in to Ticketmaster and BC Place Stadium for the mass lineups and missed concert experience.

This is when that advice from your mother about ‘writing an stern letter’ comes in handy! In response to upset ticket holders, Ticketmaster wrote: “On behalf of BC Place and Ticketmaster, we sincerely apologize for the significant inconvenience that you experienced on May 12th. We want to assure you we continue to address the contributing factors so a similar situation does not happen again”.

To make up for the mishap, Ticketmaster is sending $50 gift cards for each ticket bought to use at future events, and B.C. Place is giving free admission to a Vancouver Whitecaps or B.C. Lions game, plus a $20 food and beverage voucher.

**Note: compensation is not guaranteed. Please contact Ticketmaster for further details.
