Mayor Gregor Robertson Proclaims Tragically Hip Day in Vancouver!

“GORD FM” welcomed Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson to the studio this morning to announce July 26th as Tragically Hip Day in Vancouver, and every July 26th moving forward!

It was the least we could do given the band’s nine #1 albums and numerous awards – including 14 JUNO Awards – and 30+ times The Hip have played our city over the last couple decades.

The Mayor even remarked on the cultural significance of the band, as being truly Canadian – on par with maple syrup and hockey!
