1. Pet-A-Palooza

Thousands of furry canine friends will descend upon Yaletown this weekend for the second annual Pet- A- Palooza. This outdoor pet festival includes interactive pet events such as fly ball shows, cool down stations, photo lounges and the ever popular ‘Running of the Bulls’ French and English Bull dog races. This free one day event includes tons of giveaways, pet themed vendors and proceeds will support Just Love Animal’s spay and neuter campaign as well as the construction of a one of a kind pet memorial garden.

2. The Fair at the PNE

The annual Fair at the PNE kicks off this Saturday with over fifty rides and attractions, daily performances, live entertainment, and hundreds of new exhibits including the Beatles Memorabilia Exhibition, Dinosaurs Alive! A Jurassic Experience, Mermaid Tales in ToonCity, the SuperDogs, dueling pianos, a kids discovery farm, the annual rib festival competition, and the brand new craft beer competition. The Fair also includes live entertainment each night with the summer night concert series featuring shows by Tom Cochran, Colin James, Loverboy, Sloan, the Beach Boys and more.

3. Steveston Dragon Boat Festival

This Saturday the annual Steveston Dragon Boat Festival takes over Steveston Village for a day of exciting races, live entertainment, delicious food and more.
Not only can you cheer on your favorite dragon boat team at this free festival but expect to get your dance on at the World Beat stage with performances by the Drive Street Band, Drum Syndicate and Halfway to Hollywood. There will be plenty of shopping to do with a variety of vendors on-site and the kids can keep busy at the kids arts and crafts zone as well.

4. Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest

Get your eat on at the Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest this Saturday. This one day event is the largest food truck festival gathering in Canada and features over 70 different trucks featuring everything from poutine and perogies to dim sum and Dougie dogs.
