Details

On Sunday, August 19, 2018, the City of Port Moody will host its second annual Car-Free Day on St. Johns Street from 12 noon to 7pm.

This community celebration, filled with live music, delicious food, activities for all ages, and local businesses and artisans, is an event you don’t want to miss!

Last year, more than 20,000 people enjoyed all that Car-Free Day had to offer.

This year, Car-Free Day presented by Onni will feature:

  • live music, including reggae group Mostly Marley, and Jazz crooners Clavinova Nights;
  • great food, available from local restaurants and food trucks;
  • Brewers Row Beer Garden at Queens Street Plaza;
  • family-friendly activities, like rock climbing, street hockey, face painting, mini train rides, and a bicycle skills zone;
  • roving entertainers and mascots;
  • more than 100 booths presented by local businesses and artisans; and
  • electric vehicle and bicycle demonstrations.

Car-free days take place across the country and aim to inspire people to get out of their cars, interact with each other, and explore alternative modes of transportation.

On-street parking in the area will be extremely limited, so the City asks residents and visitors to consider alternative ways to get to the celebration: walk, bike, or take public transit.
