Vancouver’s own 54-40 brought their music to Dragons’ Den hoping their ‘sound offer’ would land them an unprecedented royalty deal.

’80s rock group 54-40 stepped into The Dragons’ Den to pitch their music to a panel of Canada’s top entrepreneurs. The band was looking for a $500,000 dollar investment from a Dragon, in exchange for 5% of the royalty money from all past, present and future music from the band for the next five years. *This includes royalty money from the Hootie & the Blowfish cover of “I Go Blind”.

Now, if you’re a regular Dragons’ Den watcher, you will know that music deals like this are very rare, and in an attempt to seal the deal, 54-40 gave the Dragons a taste of what the band sounds like today with a special performance.
