Kendrick Lamar opened the show with help from Bono and the Edge from U2 and comedian Dave Chappelle. U2 and Kendrick Lamar collaborated on the song “American Soul” and “Get Out Of Your Own Way” in 2017, which sparked this collaboration with the Irish rock legends at the GRAMMYs. The band later took the show outside performing “Get Out Of Your Own Way” off their album Songs Of Experience, in front of the Statue of Liberty on the Hudson River.

The beloved James Corden hosted the live show from Madison Square Garden in New York. He joined Shaggy and Sting for a subway edition of Carpool Karaoke before the two performed a blended performance of “Englishman in New York” with their new track “Don’t Make Me Wait” with Shaggy singing “I’m a Jamaican in New York”.

Bruno Mars performed “Finesse” with Cardi B and left it all on the floor! This performance had so much energy, complete with the smooth dance moves we’ve come to expect from Bruno, amazing vocals and we always appreciate the retro feels he brings to the stage. Bruno took home “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year” AND “Album of the Year” at this year’s GRAMMY Awards – this dude’s on fire!

Ever the icon and always bedazzled, Sir Elton John took the stage performing “Tiny Dancer” and was joined by Miley Cyrus. Both artists brought their massive vocal prowess to the tune and put on a huge performance. This performance comes off the announcement that Elton John will be retiring from touring, after his upcoming three-year global tour.
