Of course we’re celebrating! We even dusted off our old scrapbooks to uncover some Duran Duran throwbacks!

Coming straight out of the closet of our very own Promotions Director, Marcy Mailloux, we unearthed some photos of the “Fab Five” from so long ago that the tape used to hold the pics in place is no longer sticky!

On this Duran Duran Appreciation Day, we asked our resident fan girl some pressing questions about one of her favourite ’80s bands:

Q: Favourite member? You seem to have a lot of cutouts of Nick!

A: “Roger! He was the strong, silent type. It was always Simon Le Bon and John Taylor getting all the attention. I figured so many other girls liked those guys, and maybe I had a chance with Roger!”

Q:
How many concerts have you been to and which was your favourite?

A: “You know what? I’ve seen them once, and it was only maybe in the last 10 years. I never saw them in their prime.”

Q:
Your ultimate fan girl moment?

A: “I can tell you after they broke up, Andy Taylor and John Taylor went to form The Power Station and Power Station went to play at the PNE. And my sister loved them! All day, the day before, she was practicing to faint. But she got home that night, and was like “Oh my God, I really fainted!!!” and I thought she was crying wolf. She said, because they’d been at the PNE all day and then they went to the show, and just before they came on, she fainted for real! They brought her to the side of the stage and John Taylor came out and brought her his towel and a glass of water. I don’t think she washed that towel, ever! I was SO mad! I was only allowed to go to one concert, and it was either Tears for Fears or Power Station, and I chose Tears for Fears. So I missed my chance to meet John Taylor.”
