Back on stage for the first time in a decade, the McKenzie Brothers, alongside a star-studded cast of Canadian comedians, came together in support of Dave Thomas’ nephew, who was partially paralyzed following a January 2017 snowmobile accident.

To give a taste of the lineup, the evening kicked off with a live version of the “Great White North” with Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, Martin Short played host, and Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara did a skit together.

Dave Thomas told the CBC that Martin Short was a big catalyst of this evening coming together: “Marty said, ‘let’s do a show’ and I said, ‘well, I don’t want to impose’ and he said ‘Nonsense! If it was my kid, I would impose on everybody, starting with you!”

“Take Off, Eh” ended up raising $325,000 that will go to towards the Jake Thomas’s Road To Recovery GoFundMe campaign and Spinal Cord Injury Ontario.
