We’ve got a new sister-station launching this September, and this morning we found out who will be leading the morning charge!

Introducing “Sportsnet’s Starting Lineup with Cybulski, Darling and Laurence,”  the new morning show for Vancouver’s Sportsnet 650 all-sports radio station. The show, which launches September 4 and will air Monday to Friday from 6 to 10 a.m. PT, features James Cybulski, Steve Darling and Mira Laurence.

Cybulski is an award-winning broadcaster who brings 25 years of experience to the role. He’s a familiar face in Vancouver having first worked here from 2000-2004 as the Bureau Chief for The Score. He returned to the west coast in 2013 to join Sportsnet Pacific and most recently worked with the NEWS 1130 team in Vancouver. Cybulski has covered three Olympic Games, the Stanley Cup, Grey Cup, NBA Finals, World Series, The Masters, World Juniors and more over the course of his career.

Darling has been a British Columbia resident nearly his entire life. His extensive resume as a news anchor and sports reporter includes time with NEWS 1130, BCTV and Global BC Morning News. He has covered both news and sports extensively in B.C. and has hosted numerous live events including the announcement that Vancouver had secured the 2010 Olympic Winter Games which was honored as best live broadcast at the Leo awards.

A veteran sportscaster, Laurence spent more than a decade covering Vancouver sports, including 10 years as head of the sports department for CTV Vancouver Island. Laurence is returning to the broadcasting world after spending the past several years in roles as the Partnership Development Officer for Vikes Athletics and Recreation at the University of Victoria and most recently as the Executive Director of HeadWay, the Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson’s Centre.

More details regarding Sportsnet 650’s programming lineup will be announced at later date. Cybulski, Darling, and Laurence will be taking part in the Canucks Summer Showdown annual season ticket holder event, tomorrow evening at Rogers Arena.
