Here’s where you can catch a moonlit flick in and around Vancouver this summer!

Pack your lawn chairs, blankets, and popcorn and pile in for a movie under the stars. All movies start at dusk, but be sure to arrive a little early to get the best seating.

VANCOUVER:

Stanley Park Summer Cinema: One of the biggest outdoor movies screens in the Lower Mainland. All flicks air on Tuesday evenings:

  • August 1 – Beauty and the Beast
  • August 8 – Jaws
  • August 15 – Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets
  • August 22 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

 

Canada Place Waterfront Cinema: Every Thursday at dusk, movie-goers can catch a film starring at least one great Canadian actor/actress, on the newly refurbished North Point at Canada Place.

  • August 3 – Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom 8:55 p.m.
  • August 10 – Trolls 8:40 p.m.
  • August 17 – Miss Congeniality 8:30 p.m.
  • August 24 – Wayne’s World 8:15 p.m.
  • August 31 – Sound of Music 8:00 p.m.

 

NORTH VANCOUVER: 

Family Movies in the Plaza: with a family-oriented approach, this is a great spot to bring the kids to catch any of the four outdoor screenings. This year’s line-up includes:

  • August 4 – The Lego Movie 8:45 p.m.
  • August 18 – Moana 8:20 p.m.
  • August 25 – The Secret Life of Pets 8:20 p.m.

 

BURNABY:

Burnaby Outdoor Movie Series: Every Thursday in August, head down to the park at Civic Square (Located beside Bob Prittie Library – Metrotown Branch at Kingsborough and MacKay) for a free flick!

  • August 3 Moana
  • August 10 Stars (in Mandarin with English subtitles)
  • August 17 Beauty and the Beast (animated)
  • August 24 The Secret Life of Pets
  • August 31 Toy Story

 

WEST VANCOUVER:

Harmony Arts Festival: Beginning August 4th, each day of the festival brings with it an outdoor movie screening. They press play around 9pm, and this year the line-up includes titles like Hidden Figures, Jurassic Park, and Zootopia.
