Generally speaking, hippos are terrifying creatures, but shrink it down to baby size, and you’ll want to take one home!

Baby Hippo: Fiona
@cincinnatizoo

It’s been more than 75 years since the Cincinnati Zoo welcomed a Nile hippo calf. You can imagine the zoo’s excitement when they found out 17 year old Bibi The Hippo was pregnant! Baby Fiona was born prematurely at 6 weeks before her predicted first appearance, but with full vet attention, she’s been thriving (growing to a healthy 130 lbs.!!).

Take a look at the chronicled first couple months of Baby Fiona’s life at the zoo; we promise she’ll steal your heart!

This is what a baby hippo sounds like!

Toothless grin of the cutest variety!

Ok, last one we promise! Shower time for wee Fiona!

Ok, we lied!! Can you blame us? Look at that face!
