Christopher Reeve played the superhero for nearly a decade, beginning with Superman in 1978 through to Superman IV: The Quest for Peace in 1987. The iconic red and blue suit, however, has seen a recent resurfacing! And, there’s photographic evidence!

You know what they say, ‘If the suit fits…’

Producer of 2013’s Man of Steel,  Zack Snyder, recently posted this picture of Henry Cavill’s audition, where he can be seen wearing Reeve’s original suit. This costume was never supposed to be worn for the movie, however, the updated superhero outfit wasn’t quite ready at the time of his audition. Seeing Cavill wearing the classic, Synder said “I knew right away he was my Superman…He put it on and when he came out of the trailer, everyone was like, ‘Dang, you’re Superman!'”

The next Justice League movie is set to be released November 2017, and there’s speculation that Superman will don a getup only seen in the comics during the resurrection of this character (Cavill will presumably return this Fall for the new movie, although has been left out of the trailers).

It will supposedly look something like this…
